Where is the soft stop set on HLR and HB1 hydraulic motors?
How is the soft stop of the HLR and HB1 hydraulic motors configured?
As we have discussed on other occasions; both the overhead doors, which we can have installed in our personal homes or neighborhood communities (usually car entrance to the garage); as swing gates, (usually entrances to enclosures) need the use of hydraulic motors to operate properly and adequately, giving way and closing the entrance to garages, homes or other industrial entrances.
This time we are going to focus on the HLR and HB1 hydraulic motors, since many doubts arise regarding their operation, installation, adjustments and maintenance, such as the case of the soft stop of these motors.
HLR hydraulic motor
The HLR hydraulic motor with a new pump, which makes it faster and quieter, has a patented adjustable ring system on the shaft to adjust the degrees of opening, adjustable soft stop on opening and closing. Provided with the BAC system that allows to select the operation (reversible, blocked or semi-blocked) individually in each maneuver, it is also excellent as an anti-wind system.
The soft stop adjustment is made by means of a screw located on the upper part of the front cover of the motor. It should be adjusted in 10° turns and affects both the opening and closing soft stop in its last 15mm of travel. If the screw is fully tightened, the soft stop travel (15mm) will be lost.

HB1 hydraulic motor
The HB1 hydraulic motor, for single and double leaf counterweight up-and-over doors up to 25m², for residential, community and industrial use, performs adjustable soft stop in opening and closing.
The SB and SBN versions are equipped with a connection for hydraulic locking, they collect latches at closing. The BAC and BACN versions are equipped with a universal system that allows to select the operation (reversible, locking or semi-locking) individually in each maneuver, and offer
an excellent adjustable anti-wind system. The BACN and SBN versions are equipped with an adjustable pressure sensor in the closure. Both versions are compliant with EN 12453 standards.
The soft stop adjustment is made by means of screws located in the central and lower part of the motor, which will modify the soft stop of the last 15° of travel in opening or closing. They should be adjusted in turns no greater than 45° and we have to take into account that if they are totally closed we will lose the last 15° of travel. Depending on the type of assembly and hardware used, the screws will make the adjustment in opening or closing.
