For safety reasons, it is necessary to prevent the door from gaining speed when the operator is unlocked; if it does not have a compensation or braking system, it will tend to accelerate towards the direction of the slope, making uncontrolled movement dangerous. The radial damper only offers resistance in one direction of rotation, being totally free in the opposite direction. This brake has been designed with the aim of offering solutions to the door automation market. MEDVA, as an established and recognized company in the automation manufacturing sector, has detected a lack of safety devices for doors with steep slopes, very heavy doors or a combination of both factors. Before producing this ingenious speed controller, we offered the solution of incorporating two controllers combined to achieve a maximum effort of up to 14Nm, but this solution was somewhat more expensive economically to have to install two controllers.
